Two Orphans

 

There are two boys, Pichey and Vichet, who live in the same village, but their characters are pretty different. They are both orphans. Both their parents died when they were young.

Pichey is a lazy boy. He quit school since he was young. He loved to connect with all the gangsters in the village. He really enjoyed doing bad things; such as fighting, stealing, drinking, etc. He never cared about his life even the villagers tried to advise him to do good things, he still rejected and cared nothing.  

Whereas Vichet is also an orphan, he is pretty different from Pichey. He always tried to study at the pagoda with the monks. He always helped the villagers do something when they needed it. And all the villagers really like him. And they sometimes gave him some food, money, and some other materials for his study and living. He tried to study until he finished high school, and he also got a scholarship to study at the university. Finally, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. And then he became a good teacher. He can help a lot of poor students continue their studies. After his long persistence, he had a great and wonderful life.

No matter how your life was in the past, just keep studying. One day you’ll deserve a better life because of the knowledge you own. Don’t let bad people influence your life; just follow only the good ones, and your life will be bright.
