7 steps to start your own business

 

1. Think about your business model

You need to know what kind of business you should do! You want to run a service or product business.

A service business refers to the kind of business that you need to serve your customers with the exact skills you and your team have.  A product business refers to a kind of business in which you have your own or someone else’s products and sell those products to customers. You need to clarify what business fits you and then start the next step.

2. Write about your business plan

After you know what business you should start, you’d better start writing down a business plan. You need to have your own vision and mission ready in pages and follow the guideline you have written.

3. Think about your capital

As the founder, you need to be clear with your first capital to start a short-term running and prepare for 3-6 months downturn. Make sure your business can survive this time.

4. Find people to join

You can find someone who has the same vision to join and discuss the three things above in advance.

5. Recruit energetic staffs to work for you

Don’t focus much on finding the best people; just find people who are willing to work for you, and you can teach them along the way.

6. Focus on the quality of products or services

You must put tremendous effort into the products or services that you provide customers. In business, there many competitors in the long run, so it needs to be great enough with your own products or services. Training your staffs to be more professional is the thing that you need to care the most.

7. Focus on serving your customers

This last point is the most important thing in business. You need to be sure that your customers are happy to be served by you and your staffs. And make sure that you need to know they are happy with your products. And you also need to open up to any feedback from your customers and engage with them to offer better service.
