Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl who lived in a small city. Her parents wanted her to marry a rich man. She never knew that man, and she also didn’t love him. Actually, she already had a boyfriend. And they both really love each other.
When her parents knew about that,
they didn’t allow her to go outside anymore. They didn’t want her daughter to
meet that poor man.
They told her, “We’ll keep you
inside your room until you forget that poor man, and we will marry you to a
rich man whom I just told you about earlier. He will be able to make you a good
living for your whole life. Whatever you want, he can afford it. And when you
get him as your husband, our family will be rich because of him, too. Please
forget that poor man. He will never be able to make you happy. Believe us, my
beloved daughter.”
The girl was so sad. She was
waiting for her boyfriend to come.
A poor man didn’t know about the
situation. He didn’t meet her for a few days, so he really missed her. He
wondered why his girlfriend did not come to meet him. Thus, he decided to go to
her house at night. When all her family members fell asleep, he tried to climb
the wall to meet her in her room. It was very lucky that her window was also
opened, so he could climb through it.
“The window always opened because she was waiting for her boyfriend to come to meet her.”
Yes, they could meet each other
that night, and she told him all the things that happened. So they immediately
decided to leave the city together that night. They went to the other city,
which is very far from the city where they were born.
There was no one who knew them at
the new place. The girl said to the man:
Girl:
We become a couple, which our parents don’t know about our marriages; so what
will we do next, my husband?
Boy:
Don’t worry, my beloved wife. One day, when we have children, we will go back
to meet and say sorry to our parents. And when they see their grandchildren,
they will not be angry with us anymore.
Girl:
I will always follow you, my hobby. My life is for you.
Boy: Thanks for everything. I do love you! I will take care of you forever. We will fight for our lives together.
It was not really easy for the young
couple to live in a new city where no one knew them. Some days, they didn’t
even have food to eat. But they really tried together to confront that hard
situation.
Five years later, their first child
(a boy) was born to this world. They always kept trying to work and ran a small
business (grocery store). The husband tried to work outside, and the wife
stayed with the baby and sold something at the store.
Firstly, they just rented a store,
but they could afford to buy it after 15 years. They tried until their family
became middle-class in the city. They had their own house and some other
properties. Their lives seemed to be happy, and they also had a second child (a
girl).
After leaving from their parents 20
years, they decided to visit them. They wanted them to see their success as
well.
When they got to the birth city, many things had changed. And their parents were not in this world anymore. Their parents have passed away since they left around 10 years ago. They could only see their photos.
The story reflected to all parents
that, “don’t really care much about money at first. Money comes after our persistence.
Don’t try to force your children to marry someone they don’t love. Even he/she
has much money, sometime he/she just thinks of your child as a pet. How can you
keep track of your children’s happiness along the way?
Sometime you marry your child to
the rich one is not always right! You don’t always live with them. The rich guy
mostly doesn’t really value his/her spouse because he/she has money. He/she
cares nothing! Sometime your child can almost cry everyday.
Anyway, allowing your children to choose the one they love can be the best strategy. Even they don’t have money at first, but they are happy to try together. Mostly, they are poor only at the starting point, but later on they will be able to make their living. And sometime they can be rich more than ever you think.
Let's say that you’re the one who chooses a spouse to live with for your whole life; you also need the one you love. You’ll never choose the one you don’t love, either. So please put your children’s hearts in yours.
