If you want to advise someone, you have to put yourself in their situation, otherwise you will only get hatred.
For example, you see an employee preparing documents
that do not meet company standards, and two bosses guide that employee.
The first boss advised: You did that wrong and you
seem to know nothing. You’re so foolish! Next time, stop doing that again!
The second boss advised: You really tried very hard to
do this work. I'm very happy to see it. It looks like the work you have done is
really good, but if you do this ... it will be even better. In the past, when I
first started working like you, I did the same thing as you do now, but my boss
told me as what I told you. And then I changed to be great day after day. How
do you think?
Think about it! If that employee is you, which one do you like to listen to and consider as your role model? Hopefully this short lesson will help you to be mindful all times before advising someone. Learn to look at the situation and use the polite words to advise them. At least you should know some psychological words, because not everyone likes bad words.
